Positive Money Moves.

Don’t stay in Bed unless you can make money in bed.

Hi! My name is Hauwa Maijiddah Bagudu.
As a featured writer on this particular article i hope my piece drives home some positive thoughts and notes about the legal tender— money.

Like religion, sex or politics — a lot of people refuse to talk about money as they consider it off limits to discuss their finances and incomes with others. Some feel guilty when they have and talk about it while others feel ashamed to not have and discuss it. Whichever way, money has the regnant power to provoke extreme human emotions — its presence can immediately light up a dull room and vice versa.

In a country like ‘our’ Nigeria, where youths unemployment rate is estimated to reach 32.5 percent in the first quarter of 2021, the younger generation is apparently in destitution and penury which either evokes them to practice entrepreneurial skills and establish a licit source of income to fend for themselves or adopt the path for making quick and fraudulent money which further depreciates the economy.

However, for those that are fortunate to acquire enough capital to begin a business, lots of challenges are faced; from heavy taxing to lack of sales to a broad competitive market to a bunch of unsupportive friends and an already ‘angry’ or ‘irritated’ targeted consumers. Managing these obstacles can be quite a lot, if not push you out of business. But as it is, a zealous and determined mind can not be stopped!

Multiple streams of income is fast becoming the new fashion. As the cost of a standard livelihood is constantly on a hike, surviving on a single job is almost impossible. Hence, capable individuals are now launching into various lucrative businesses to meet up with their bills.

All these stated, it is clear that human activities consciously or subconsciously revolve around money — it’s sources and functions. Therefore it is vital for every individual to have a stable source of income, enough to fund their lifestyle. Yes, I know money isn’t everything! But truth be told, a man with no money isn’t even happy with himself. Except yes, if we’re to pretend. Ultimately, I live you with this nugget — “make money but work hard for your money, because easy money could mean easy doom” !!!!

  1. Great post! For me, I’ve found ‘managing money’ to be as essential as the income stream itself. Having a budget makes a huge difference in ensuring we don’t waste the money earned. (Like the old saying goes: if you don’t tell your money where to go, you’ll wonder where it went!) 🙂
